The West Texas Triangle is the Space for Art: Open lands . . .big skies . . . small-city ease . . . rural charm . . . and surprising cultural sophistication.

In 2006, a consortium of five art museums in West Texas collaborated to define the West Texas Triangle for the purpose of promoting their unique collections to a wider audience.

Each of the participating museums possesses wonderful collections that encompass a vast range of human history and artistic activity, and all are located in distinctive landmark buildings. Continuously changing exhibitions focus on a broad overview of all cultures and time periods. All five of the museums are in close proximity to a rich array of unusual and delightful cultural, shopping, and dining attractions in their respective towns.

It is interesting to note that although fewer than five percent of the museums in America have received accreditation (indicating the highest level of professional service) from the American Association of Museums, all five of the museums in the West Texas Triangle are accredited.

Comprising a sparsely populated area roughly the size of Ohio, the  West Texas Triangle is easily accessible from I-20 and  I-10.

The West Texas Triangle region comprises vast open lands, numerous cattle, goat and sheep ranches, agriculture - primarily in the form of cotton and sorghum, oil fields, and a growing number of environmentally-friendly wind farms. The four cities of Odessa, Midland, Abilene, and San Angelo are dynamic manufacturing and commercial centers. The small town of Albany combines extraordinary rural charm with easy urban accessibility.
